Ordered the monkfish set meal. The number of side dishes you get for the price is incredible. Even without the main monkfish soup, the spread is enough to finish a whole bowl of rice. Soy sauce marinated crab, stir-fried pork, grilled croaker, various kimchi and namul, glass noodles, steamed cabbage wraps, etc... It wouldn't be strange to pay this much even without the soup. You end up finishing a bowl before the soup even arrives, so ordering extra rice is mandatory. The main monkfish soup comes out shortly after, and the broth hits that perfect balance of spicy and refreshing. I'd been searching for a clean, refreshing, and spicy pollack soup in Gunsan lately without any luck, and to think it would be resolved here... The satisfaction is so real, you just can't stop using your spoon. The monkfish itself doesn't have much meat and is a bit tough, which is a drawback, but the soup is really the main event here. Still, considering the price and the generous spread, I can't really complain. It’s surprisingly hard to find a broth that’s just the right amount of spicy, savory, and refreshing, but this place hits all those marks with a delicious soup at an excellent value. If you know anyone who is super picky about price and taste, just comfortably recommend this place.
