It would be a lie to say I didn't have any expectations at all, but I certainly didn't have unreasonable expectations for an izakaya, yet it was still far too disappointing compared to what I expected. First of all, it was sad that the ankimo (monkfish liver) I was looking forward to wasn't available to order at all, but the quality of the sushi I did order was, um... just looking at the visuals... It was so very disappointing compared to the restaurant's atmosphere and other menu items. So many sushi-sakabas are opening these days, and it's embarrassing to even compare them. The negishio tori (green onion salt chicken) wasn't bad, and the fried mehikari (greeneyes) was quite delicious, but perhaps because the initial damage was so severe, it was a very disappointing experience.
