Boxes were already packed and stacked up, so I got mine as soon as I ordered, and the box felt quite heavy. Walking through the market, everyone was carrying one of these, so it really felt like I was a tourist in Sokcho. When I opened it, the shiny sauce was topped with sliced almonds. It was the mild flavor, but it started off sweet and finished with a slight spicy kick, which was addictive. Even though it was cold, the outside wasn't too soggy and had a decent crunch. From a tourist's perspective, it might not be incredibly moving, but it certainly gives you the feeling that you've been to Sokcho.

Given the nature of eating it cooled, the packaging, designed to let moisture escape before you even open the box (there are holes on the side of the lid), caught my eye. I had a piece of the leftovers the next day, and I was surprised that the crispness was still there. Honestly, dakgangjeong is a dish that can't really taste bad. But rather than any novelty in flavor, the experience of buying it because everyone in Sokcho eats it made it feel even more delicious.
