Looking at the base curry photos on Naver, I honestly felt it looked a bit sparse, but fortunately, it was more generous in person than I thought. Vegetables included lotus root, pickles, sun-dried tomatoes, carrots, onions, eggplant, and broccoli in that order from the front. The lotus root was infused well with a charcoal aroma and had enough sweetness, making it the tastiest among the vegetables. I honestly don't know why the pickles were in there... it seems like it would have been a disaster if I had dipped them in the curry. The carrot had good sweetness, but it was warm on the outside and very cold in the center. It wasn't undercooked, so it didn't have a crunchy texture, but this part was a bit disappointing. For the onion, the sweetness was good, but it felt like only the outside was slightly charred. I enjoyed the broccoli and eggplant as they had a decent temperature. It was a shame about the temperature of the vegetables, but soaking them in the curry helped resolve that issue somewhat. (Though it did lower the soup temperature...) The rice was cooked well with a fluffy texture. The most important part, the curry, had a consistency similar to that of pork rice soup (dwaeji gukbap). I actually mixed it in like I was eating gukbap. The spice aroma was nice, but it wasn't the type that was so strong it felt overwhelming. The saltiness wasn't on the high side either, so overall it was a curry I could eat comfortably.
