카미(94 reviews)Dinner・Visited 2022/04(1 visits)3.5024Sushi DajeongThis was the very first omakase I’d ever been to. I didn’t really know what omakase was, but somehow I managed to snag a reservation, and I have such fond memories of the place. Back then, during the pandemic, the omakase boom was happening. Places like Aruhi were incredibly popular for their value, and it was so hard to get a booking that people even coined the term "sushi-gansincheong" (like registering for a popular university course). I remember Sushi Dajeong (스시다정) bookings used to sell out in 5 seconds flat. That’s how I ended up going with a friend after asking them to join me. There were so many unfamiliar names like abalone liver sauce and ankimo (monkfish liver) that I was trying for the first time, and I was honestly blown away by the sushi rice, which was so different from the kind you get with standard delivery sushi. I was especially shocked by the tuna. It wasn't the hard, square-shaped tuna you get in delivery orders; it was properly thawed and soft, which was fascinating to me. Since I didn't eat much sushi back then, I didn't note down or remember the details of the sushi rice, but I really enjoyed the meal. I’m curious what it would feel like to eat there again now.

It wasn't too heavy, yet it still felt casual. There weren't any particularly intense highlights in the meal, but everything was enjoyable and approachable. The sake pairing was available at an affordable price, which was satisfying.
