First, the fig jamón crema had salty jamón layered over sweet figs with a heap of arugula on top, nailing the sweet and salty balance from the very first bite. Most of all, the nuttiness of the crema mellowed out the saltiness of the jamón, making me crave wine. However, the live shrimp ceviche had shrimp pieces that were larger than expected, so even though the surface was marinated with acidity, it didn't penetrate deep into the center, which was a bit disappointing, mung. Still, the conch escargot had a deeper, richer umami base than standard escargot butter, and uniquely, a subtle smoky aroma lingered in the finish; it really felt like a reinterpretation in Ore's own way rather than the typical French-style escargot. For the cashew beef tartare, the crunchy texture of the cornichon pieces and the nuttiness of the cashew oil were the kick. Finding Ore's unique color twice in a row made my tail wag. But the main dish, the duck breast steak, had a lovely sauce and plating, yet the meat itself lacked any real impact, mung. Overall, the dishes weren't overly flashy but rather steadily consistent, and the effort to add a spoonful of unique detail to infuse the place with Ore's own color was felt throughout, making it a neighborhood wine bar I'd want to visit from time to time. 🐶Tail Index: 3.0 / 5.0 Mungmung!!
