Starting with the highly recommended 'Kkun-mandu' (fried dumplings), the thin, crispy wrapper was absolutely delicious. You can truly feel that the dough was crafted specifically for this taste! The filling is generous and pairs perfectly with the wrapper. Even though I love Chinese cuisine, I usually find myself needing tea or another drink when eating fried dumplings, but I could easily eat one or even two plates of these without any drink. What's fascinating is that they are delicious even when cold. As the wrapper softens, it becomes tender while retaining a savory flavor, which is quite a treat. Taesan Mandu's leftover fried dumplings the next day > most fresh fried dumplings. The steamed buns (Wang-mandu) also have a wonderfully fluffy wrapper. They are steamed perfectly with the filling inside for a soft texture. The steamed dumplings are a bit milder compared to the fried ones, but still delicious. I've become obsessed with how Taesan Mandu is in a league of its own. If you go to Daegu, you must try them.
