I recommend the half-and-half set, which includes both the black dakgangjeong and the mild dakgangjeong. What catches your eye first is definitely the black dakgangjeong; it’s coated in a black sauce, and the surprising thing is that it’s not as aggressive as its color suggests. It has a unique umami flavor from a sauce made with squid ink and chunjang (black bean paste)! It’s clearly been marketed well, given that it looks so different from typical seasoned dakgangjeong. (It tastes good, too.) The mild dakgangjeong is the flavor you’d expect from dakgangjeong, and you can really taste the sweet sauce and the nuttiness of the fried chicken. I also liked the thin batter and how moist the meat was!
