It is located near Ojeon Mineral Spring (오전약수탕), close to the Korea National Arboretum (a place many visit to see the Baekdudaegan tigers). Locals in Gyeongbuk know it's in a very rural area and hard to find, so I wondered why there would be a wood-fired pizza place here. But after searching on Naver and seeing over 1,000 reviews, I decided I had to go. I happened to have a business trip nearby, so I rushed over. I went around lunchtime on a weekday, so it wasn't very crowded, but the reviews say you absolutely must wait in line on weekends (it can take over 3 hours when it's busy). Since it's near a mineral spring, they use the mineral water for the dough and Imsil cheese for the toppings. When I first walked in, I was surprised to see a lot of older customers (in their 50s and 60s). Wondering why, I ordered the arugula pizza and Hawaiian pizza (personally, I like pineapple haha). I tried a slice, and it felt very clean and healthy. It wasn't bland or under-seasoned, and the dough was chewy. I think I understand why older people come here so much. Usually, after eating pizza, I feel a bit greasy and it doesn't digest well, but when I left after finishing everything, my stomach felt comfortable and it digested quickly. (Maybe the dough made with mineral water really helps with digestion.) These days there are so many good pizza places that I don't think this is a place you would make a trip specifically for (the location is really pushing it...), but if you're coming to the Korea National Arboretum or have plans to visit nearby, I don't think it's a bad idea to stop by.
