Honestly, I'm not that great with spicy food, but I heard that even if you order the milder brisket jjamppong, they give you a side of the spicy broth, so I went just to try it lol The gimbap I ordered to protect my stomach was surprisingly decent. It felt like a very skimpy, empty gimbap, but the rice was actually pretty good, so I enjoyed it. But the trouble started with the jjamppong. For starters, the broth had a very thin, school-cafeteria vibe. And the noodles—I'm not sure if they were undercooked, but there was this strange egg-like fishy smell that kept coming off them, which was the hardest part to deal with when trying to eat them with the already lackluster soup... Also, the spicy broth will literally kill you if you're not careful. I had one bite and was absolutely shocked lol If you mix in just a little, you can reach a level where you can enjoy the stimulation, but even then, the soup and noodles were both just... Won-se-bu (Wonsebu) in Incheon has a Samseon Gochu Jjamppong that's spicy in a similar way, but you can definitely feel that it's delicious while being spicy. I think this place is only for those who purely want to enjoy the pain.
