I thought they only sold desserts, but they also have bread and sandwiches. I picked up the Saint-Honoré and the signature Moulin Rouge, and paired them with hojicha. For the Saint-Honoré, the combination of the crispy choux and the not-too-sweet cream was really delicious. It paired perfectly with the flaky feuilletage as well. For the Moulin Rouge, the pistachio croustillant was nice, crispy and nutty. I'd have to try more to be sure, but I wonder if these layers are a characteristic of Ennc. However, in the case of the Moulin Rouge, between the flavor I associated with its look and my preference for acidity, it was a bit of a letdown. The decoration on top is white chocolate, and the mousse also had a very strong white chocolate flavor. I'm not a fan of desserts where the taste of the raw chocolate ingredient is too literal, and it just happened to be white chocolate, which I prefer less... I'm sure they used expensive ingredients, though… It was just a matter of personal taste, but this is definitely a great dessert spot. Next time, I want to try not only the other gâteaux but also the chocolate baguette and the sandwiches.
