The interior has low lighting overall, and it has an atmospheric vibe by exposing the raw concrete walls and steel frames. It is spacious with a first and second floor, and the seating is well-spaced, so you can feel the openness typical of large cafes. The light from the bulbs is especially attractive as it gets dark. I had two consecutive meals of ramen that day, so I chose the citrusy beans (Natsume Soseki). The aroma wasn't anything special, but the acidity was subtle and pleasant. They roast their own coffee, and it's better than other franchises, so I often drop by when I'm working.

Anthracite (앤트러사이트) has several branches in Seoul, and this Hapjeong location is essentially the flagship. I ordered the Kenya AB Top Wachuri micro-lot washed. The coffee had notes of bright citrus and blackcurrant, but honestly, the flavor profile wasn't very sharp. It tasted muddled and faint. It was a disappointing cup of coffee that failed to bring out any of the bean's character. The café itself is spacious and has a trendy industrial vibe. They also have an eye-catching selection of various breads and desserts. However, I didn't order any dessert, and since I focus more on the coffee than the spatial elements, I remember this place as a big letdown.
