Actually, I wanted to have scallops too, but since they are a popular spot, they said they were already sold out when I arrived. Feeling a bit disappointed, I ordered all three menu items: mackerel sashimi, grilled eel, and grilled abalone. What I was looking forward to most was definitely the mackerel sashimi. I could barely taste the characteristic fishiness of mackerel, and it was much tastier when wrapped in the onion and seaweed that came with it. Above all, since they catch the fish fresh to order, you can definitely feel the freshness. The flesh had a great springiness and the savory flavor unique to mackerel was vibrant, so I felt justified in coming here specifically for this dish. Grilled eel is the typical chewy grilled eel we usually think of. Personally, the sauce was a bit on the sweet side, but the chewy texture of the eel itself was well-preserved, making it a decent choice. Finally, the grilled abalone. It wasn't the style with an overpowering butter aroma, but it was actually better for tasting the abalone itself and its chewy texture. The more I chewed, the more the distinct, elastic texture of the abalone stood out, making it a good side dish to order. Among the three, the mackerel sashimi left the biggest impression. The combination of non-fishy, fresh mackerel sashimi wrapped in onion and seaweed was excellent, and if I visit again, I would definitely order the mackerel sashimi without fail. Next time, I really want to try the scallops I couldn't have this time.
