It isn’t particularly special in any one way, but every menu item is guaranteed to be above average. I visited specifically because I was craving pollack soup today. Ordered the pollack soup and a bottle of soju. An ironic combination where I’m drinking and sobering up at the same time. The pollack soup comes out boiling, and the ingredients are quite generous. There’s plenty of pollack meat, and the amount of milt and roe doesn't disappoint either. The bean sprouts, in particular, are almost excessive. The broth is refreshing and spicy. The coolness from the bean sprouts combined with the unique savory flavor of the pollack makes it perfect for a glass of soju. It’s not a flashy or unique flavor, but I think that rustic, familiar taste is the charm of pollack soup. It’s an elite drinking snack that older folks would especially love. I didn't order rice today, but I think it would be quite satisfying with the broth. It's a menu item perfect for both a meal and a drink, literally "bab-sool" (eating and drinking) at its best. There's a reason why I visit this place so often.
