The soy sauce is seasoned just right without being salty, giving it great umami, and above all, the female crab is packed full of roe and meat, so it tastes incredible. The meat is plump and the shell is fairly thin, making it really easy to eat. Soy-marinated crab often turns into a battle with the shell, but they prep it so neatly here that the meat slides right out with just a gentle squeeze. Mixing the crabmeat with hot white rice, wrapping it in nori, and eating it all in one big bite is delicious too. They even prep all the claws, and the extra-large size is incredibly filling. Valet parking and group dining are available, and there seem to be lots of tourists as well. Next time, I'd like to try the spicy blue crab stew. I bet the broth is amazing.

With soy-marinated crab, I always worry first about it being too salty, but this place felt different from the very first bite. The soy sauce wasn't overpowering and was seasoned mildly enough for the crab meat's natural sweetness to come through. There was no unpleasant fishiness, either. The female crab was packed with roe and meat; the meat was moist, while the tomalley was thick and rich. I spooned some warm rice into the shell and mixed it with the tomalley, and immediately understood why this dish is called a “rice thief.” I stopped talking and just kept emptying my rice bowl for a while. The neatly presented spread and calm setting also made it a good place to bring someone special. This was a meal I'll remember for a long time. I think I'll be back. ^^
