It is a restaurant that only accepts visits by reservation. This place uses native Korean chickens certified by the Korea Native Chicken Association, and the birds are seriously huge. If you look at the plate thinking of the chicken you usually eat, the size of the bones and meat is noticeably different. It's my first time eating a chicken with this kind of texture, meat flavor, and size. It's also my first time having raw chicken (yukhoe), and it’s much more mild and clean in flavor than I expected. The meat is so clear it’s almost transparent, and the chewy texture was impressive. They serve one whole chicken butchered into parts, so not only can you grill familiar parts like wings, legs, and breasts, but also the innards, which makes it feel more like tasting the various textures of a whole native chicken rather than just eating 'grilled chicken.' We grilled it slowly over charcoal, and as expected from a native chicken, the meat is very firm. Rather than the soft, tender texture of the broiler chickens we usually eat these days, it’s closer to something that has more elasticity and a deeper meat flavor the more you chew. It really made me realize how accustomed I am to the soft, uniform texture of the chicken I eat every day; this place definitely highlights the large frame, firm meat, and rich meat flavor unique to native chickens. However, this isn't a place you can just walk into, so you must make a reservation to visit. If you're looking for some unique local food in Suncheon, it's worth trying at least once.
