I ordered the kalguksu (hand-cut noodles). The broth has a distinct sweet note, but it’s more of a savory sweetness that seems to come from anchovies, onions, and shiitake mushrooms rather than sugar. You can enjoy the clear, subtle broth as it is for a few bites, then add some pepper, and later stir in a teaspoon of seasoning paste to make it spicy. The noodles are unique; they’re thinner, translucent, and more firm than standard kalguksu, almost like konjac noodles. I prefer chewy, handmade noodles, so I personally liked this style. Both the soup and the noodles are light and easy on the stomach, so it doesn't feel heavy after eating. The portion is generous too, so you might struggle if you order an extra-large serving. It’s amazing that this meal is only 5,000 won; if it were closer, I would have eaten here all the time. The taste itself is just average, but does that even matter? The price is honestly insane.
