Within it sits a traditional teahouse. It’s fascinating that there is a part of Mount Kumgang in South Korea, and drinking the pumpkin sikhye here truly felt like paradise :) After parking, it takes about 15 minutes to walk up to Hwaamsa Temple. It’s an uphill climb, but the trail through the valley and trees is so beautiful that I enjoyed the walk and the scenery more than I felt tired. When you enter Cheonghwang, a massive boulder fills the view outside the window. Sitting there and sipping pumpkin sikhye makes all my worries seem to just melt away. Walking slowly up to the mountain temple and having a spoonful of refreshing pumpkin sikhye right in front of the massive boulders at the foot of Mount Kumgang—that’s when I knew I had found paradise.
