My score as a matcha fanatic.
The menu is a whole world of matcha. Matcha latte, matcha ice cream latte, matcha flat white, matcha affogato, matcha pudding, matcha cream latte, even a matcha strawberry latte. With a lineup like this, I went in prepared to have my blood dyed green. But it was milder than expected. Neither the matcha flavor nor the interior was as thoroughly steeped in matcha as the wild menu suggested. The matcha latte also tasted fairly ordinary. Rather than the signature richness of real matcha, the sweetness came through a little more strongly. The Sanmaru Jeju branch (산마루 제주점) looked much nicer inside too, so if I make it to Jeju, I'd like to try one of their other matcha desserts, like the matcha ice cream, at least once. It was mostly quiet inside that day. A lot of people were studying or reading. Still, the best part was that pets were allowed, so I could go with my dog!
