Korea’s First Couverture Chocolate
They also operate a chocolate museum on Jeju Island and say this was Korea’s first shop specializing in couverture chocolate, which uses only cocoa fat without palm oil or other vegetable fats. On my first visit, I saw descriptions of the cacao origins and naturally assumed it was bean-to-bar. When I asked, however, they told me they import and use couverture chocolate from abroad. I’d momentarily forgotten that couverture makers also offer single-origin products.. I bought a 70% chocolate drink and one box of nama chocolate. It’s takeout only, so drinks are served exclusively in disposable cups. If you dislike disposable cups, bringing a tumbler is essential. It is a genuine chocolate drink made with quality couverture, but I was already tired of the particular chocolate maker’s flavor and couldn’t enjoy it as much as I wanted, which was a shame. (Maybe that’s why I don’t have a photo..) Even so, I enjoyed the nama chocolate. It’s a long-standing specialty chocolate shop with the appearance of a gift.
