This time, we ordered menbosha and stir-fried snow crab meat. The menbosha paired a crisp exterior with a moist filling, while the snow crab stir-fry was especially memorable for its tender texture and delicate flavor. Even though we ordered only two dishes, the portions were substantial and we filled up quickly. Jinjin struck me as the kind of Chinese restaurant whose real appeal comes through when you visit with a group. A big part of the fun is sharing small portions of several dishes, but since there were only two of us, we couldn't order as much as we wanted, which was a little disappointing. Next time, I'd like to come with more people and try other popular dishes together, like dry-fried chicken and fish-fragrant eggplant. This visit reminded me once again why Jinjin has remained so well loved.

The beef lettuce wraps were also good, with fresh lettuce, flavorful beef, and crispy noodles adding texture Zhuyuanji is a dish reminiscent of dongpo pork, though it seemed like they might have used Chinese broccoli instead of bok choy I don’t usually like bok choy that much, so I wasn’t expecting much, but the Chinese broccoli was a little like water spinach and tasted really good The meat was tender too Then came the long-awaited highlight, the Hongmeun fish The fish itself was cooked incredibly well, but the sauce was just… unbelievably good Around then, Chef Hwang Jin-seon came out and went around greeting each table. When he saw the Hongmeun fish, he said it was a good choice… He explained how to eat it and even removed all the bones before moving on… Just as on TV, he was an incredibly outgoing, easygoing guy The sauce on the fish-fragrant eggplant was insanely good too We were about to order our final starch when Chef Hwang Jin-seon told us it would be good to add noodles separately and mix them into the Hongmeun fish. We tried to order that, but the staff member taking our order said they couldn’t do noodles separately, so we just ordered fried rice. When Chef Hwang Jin-seon came back out and we mentioned it, he said, “Who told you that? Just wait a minute,” then cooked the noodles himself and brought them over… A day when the fan service genuinely moved me And the noodles really were delicious mixed into the dish… After that, we finished with well-fried rice and dessert We visited some time after Culinary Class Wars aired, and I could see why the restaurant had received so much praise The membership system is great too, since you get a discount… A place I’d like to return to with another group
